Peugeot catalytic converters run about $25 to $300 for one original unit in 2026. FAP diesel particulate filters lead at $50 to $300, Boxer and Expert units bring $50 to $250, HDi and larger petrol units $50 to $200, 206, 207 and 208 petrol units $40 to $150, and HDi oxidation catalysts $25 to $125.
The number starts TR PSA
Peugeot units are catalogued under a reference format that is easy to recognise once you have seen it. Buyer lists carry codes such as TR PSA K204, K273, K297, K331, K346V, K352, K359, K485 and K736, sometimes alongside a European approval number in the style 103R-000034.
That prefix covers the whole former PSA group, which is the useful part. A TR PSA number identifies a converter design rather than a vehicle, and almost every one of them spans several cars.
So the instruction on this brand is simple: find the TR PSA code, photograph it, and quote that. A model name on its own tells a buyer very little here.

One reference, many badges
The sharing on this brand is among the widest covered on the site, and it runs in several directions.
Within PSA. One 2.0 HDi reference covers the Peugeot 206, 306 and Partner alongside the Citroen Berlingo and Xsara Picasso. A 1.6 HDi reference covers the Peugeot 208, 308, 5008 and Partner with the Citroen Berlingo, C4 BlueHDi and C4 Grand Picasso. Seven vehicles, two badges.
Into General Motors Europe. After PSA acquired Opel and Vauxhall, the references followed. A 1.2 VTi entry lists the Peugeot 208 and 308 with the Citroen C1 and C3 and the Vauxhall Crossland X. A 1.5 diesel entry covers the Peugeot 208, 2008, 3008, 308 and 5008 with the Citroen C3 and the Opel Grandland X.
Outside the group entirely. The reference TR PSA K346V covers a Peugeot 207 1.6 HDi and a Citroen Xsara Picasso alongside a Fiat Sedici and a Suzuki SX4, and reached a high of about 448 US dollars over a recent six-month window. That is the highest verified figure in this family.
So useful cross-checks exist in four places: the Opel and Vauxhall pages for the shared modern engines, and the Suzuki page for the K346V family.
The FAP is not an ordinary filter
This is the part of a Peugeot exhaust most sellers underestimate, and it has a specific history.
Peugeot and Citroen were the first manufacturers to fit a particulate filter as standard equipment, in 2000, beginning with the 607. They called it the FAP, from filtres a particules, and it works differently from the systems that followed it elsewhere.
A FAP relies on a cerium-based liquid additive sold as Eolys, held in its own reservoir and dosed into the fuel so that soot burns off at a lower temperature. Volkswagen and most others instead regenerate by injecting extra fuel to raise exhaust temperature, with no additive at all.
Two practical consequences follow.
First, on value. A FAP is a separate component from the catalyst ahead of it, and diesel filters and oxidation catalysts are commonly quoted anywhere from around ten to seven hundred dollars each depending entirely on what is inside. The table above places a Peugeot FAP at $50 to $300 against $25 to $125 for the oxidation catalyst, so the filter is frequently the better part. If a buyer quotes one figure for a diesel Peugeot exhaust, establish which component it covers.
Second, on condition. When the Eolys reservoir empties, at roughly 75,000 miles, the system stops regenerating properly and the filter clogs quickly. Many FAP units come off vehicles in exactly that state, and a dedicated additive warning light on the dashboard is the usual sign. A clogged filter still contains its precious metal, but it is worth mentioning the condition rather than being asked.
Identify the component before pricing it
A diesel Peugeot exhaust can contain more than one catalysed part, and recyclers are explicit that identification comes before valuation.
An oxidation catalyst reduces carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons and is platinum-led. A particulate filter traps soot and is a physically larger unit. Some later vehicles also carry selective catalytic reduction hardware, which uses a urea additive rather than heavy precious metal loading and is worth far less.
Because loadings vary so widely by engine, model year and emissions standard, a serious buyer prices by part number rather than by size. PSA filters carry their own long numbers, in strings such as 1606857180, 9677468180 and 1661143480. Send those.
Peugeot prices around the world
Platinum, palladium and rhodium settle in US dollars, so a Peugeot reference holds the same metal value in every market. Currency and local buyer depth are what change. The table converts the Peugeot span into each market's money at today's rate.

Peugeot sells across Europe, Africa, South America and parts of Asia, and its diesel share in those markets is high. Most readers here are pricing diesel hardware rather than the petrol rows.
Questions people actually ask
How much is a Peugeot catalytic converter worth as scrap?
Between roughly $25 and $300 for one original unit in 2026. HDi oxidation catalysts bring $25 to $125, 206, 207 and 208 petrol units $40 to $150, HDi and larger petrol units $50 to $200, Boxer and Expert units $50 to $250, and FAP diesel particulate filters $50 to $300.
What does TR PSA mean on a converter?
It is the trade reference format for the former PSA group, covering Peugeot and Citroen and, on later engines, Opel and Vauxhall. Codes run as TR PSA followed by a K number. The reference identifies the converter design rather than the car, so one code usually covers several models.
What is a FAP and is it worth more than the catalyst?
FAP stands for filtres a particules, the particulate filter system Peugeot and Citroen introduced in 2000 as the first fitted as standard equipment. It uses a cerium-based Eolys additive dosed into the fuel. On this brand the filter is often worth more than the oxidation catalyst ahead of it, at $50 to $300 against $25 to $125.
Do Peugeot and Citroen converters share part numbers?
Constantly. One 1.6 HDi reference covers seven vehicles across both marques, and a 2.0 HDi reference covers five. Later engines extend the same references to Opel and Vauxhall models, and one reference reaches Fiat and Suzuki.
My FAP is clogged. Is it still worth selling?
Yes. A clogged filter still contains its precious metal loading, and clogging is common on this system because regeneration fails once the Eolys additive reservoir runs dry, at roughly 75,000 miles. Mention the condition when quoting rather than waiting to be asked.
Figures on this page are indicative buyer ranges for complete, uncut original units and are not offers to buy. Converter types, codes and selling rules are covered on the main catalytic converter price page.
Frequently asked questions

What does TR PSA mean on a Peugeot catalytic converter?
It is the trade reference format used across the former PSA group, covering Peugeot and Citroen and, on later engines, Opel and Vauxhall. Codes appear as TR PSA followed by a K number such as K204 or K346V, and identify the converter design rather than the vehicle.
What is a FAP and is it worth more than the catalyst?
FAP stands for filtres a particules, the particulate filter Peugeot and Citroen introduced in 2000 as the first fitted as standard equipment on a production car. It uses a cerium-based Eolys additive dosed into the fuel. On this brand the filter is often worth more than the catalyst, at $50 to $300 against $25 to $125.
Do Peugeot and Citroen catalytic converters share part numbers?
Constantly. One 1.6 HDi reference covers seven vehicles across both marques, and a 2.0 HDi reference covers five. Later engines extend the same references to Opel and Vauxhall models, and reference TR PSA K346V also covers a Fiat Sedici and a Suzuki SX4.
Is a clogged FAP filter still worth selling?
Yes. A blocked filter still contains its precious metal loading. Clogging is common on this system because regeneration stops working once the Eolys additive reservoir empties, at roughly 75,000 miles, usually signalled by a dedicated warning light. Mention the condition when quoting.
How many catalysed parts does a diesel Peugeot have?
Usually at least two: an oxidation catalyst and, from 2000 on many models, a FAP particulate filter behind it. Some later vehicles add selective catalytic reduction hardware, which uses a urea additive and is worth considerably less. Identify which component you have before pricing it.
