Infiniti Catalytic Converter Scrap Price Today: Two Names, One Part

Infiniti renamed most of its range in 2014, so your car probably has two names and buyer lists usually use the old one. Add side-specific units and shared Nissan parts, and identification is most of the job.

Infiniti catalytic converters run about $75 to $450 for one original unit in 2026. QX56 and QX80 units lead at $150 to $450, FX45, FX50, M45 and Q70 units bring $150 to $400, FX35 and QX50 units $125 to $350, and G35, G37, Q40 and Q60 units $100 to $300. Every model carries two.

The name change nobody warned you about

Around 2014 Infiniti renamed almost its entire range. The G37 became the Q40 and Q60, the M37 became the Q70, the FX became the QX70, the EX became the QX50, and the JX became the QX60.

That matters here for a practical reason. Core buyer catalogues for this brand still list the old names: FX35, FX45, G20, G35, I30, I35, J30, M35, M45, Q45, QX4 and QX56. If you tell a buyer you have a Q60 unit and they cannot find it, the entry they are looking at says G37.

Manufacturer parts listings solve it by naming both at once. One converter is catalogued as fitting the EX37, G37, G37X, M37, M56, Q40, Q60 and Q70 together. Eight model names, one part, spanning both sides of the rebrand.

So quote the stamped reference rather than the model name, and if you must give a name, give both the old and the new one.

Left and right are different parts

This is the detail that costs the most money on this brand, and manufacturer listings make it explicit.

Infiniti converters are catalogued as left and right units with separate part numbers, and further split by drivetrain in some cases, with distinct entries for rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the same model.

Two consequences follow. There are always two units on these cars, so a quote covering one is a quote for half the vehicle. And when you photograph the references, note which side each came from, because a buyer matching left and right numbers is pricing them correctly rather than guessing.

What it shares with Nissan

Infiniti is Nissan’s premium division and the hardware is shared throughout, which works in your favour when quoting.

The clearest example is on the parts shelf: one converter set is sold as fitting the Infiniti EX35, EX37 and FX35 alongside the Nissan 350Z and 370Z. Three Infiniti models and two Nissan sports cars, one set.

That set is built around the VQ V6, the engine that runs through most of this range and much of Nissan’s. The Nissan page covers it in detail and is your cross-check: if an Infiniti quote sits below the equivalent Nissan figure for the same engine, ask why.

The same logic applies at the top of the range. The QX56 and QX80 use Armada and Patrol hardware, which is the highest band on the Nissan list.

Infiniti prices around the world

Platinum, palladium and rhodium settle in US dollars, so an Infiniti reference holds the same metal value in every market. Currency and local buyer depth are what change. The table converts the Infiniti span into each market’s money at today’s rate.

They are not local market prices: recovered material markets differ genuinely by country, and no free licensed local series exists for us to show. Rates refresh daily.

These conversions are the metal-value anchor rather than a local quote. Infiniti sold mainly in North America, the Middle East and China. In markets where the brand was never sold, the same vehicles usually wore Nissan badges, in which case the Nissan page applies.

Before you quote

Four steps, in order.

Count the units. There are two on every model in the table, plus manifold pre-cats on many.

Note the side. Left and right carry different references, and saying so marks you out as a seller who knows what they have.

Photograph the stamps rather than describing the car. Nissan family references are short alphanumeric codes rather than long serials, and they are usually on the shell under the heat shield.

And check condition before building expectations. A rattle means the ceramic substrate has broken up, and a damaged unit falls to shell value regardless of which badge or which name it wore.

Questions people actually ask

How much is an Infiniti catalytic converter worth as scrap?

Between roughly $75 and $450 for one original unit in 2026. G20 and QX4 units bring $75 to $250, G35, G37, Q40, Q60, M35 and Q45 units $100 to $300, FX35, EX35 and QX50 units $125 to $350, FX45, FX50, M45 and Q70 units $150 to $400, and QX56 and QX80 units $150 to $450.

My car is a Q60 but the buyer has no listing for it. Why?

Because core buyer catalogues generally still use the pre-2014 names. The Q60 is catalogued as a G37, the Q70 as an M37, the QX70 as an FX and the QX50 as an EX. Give both names, or better still give the stamped reference number.

Do Infiniti and Nissan converters share parts?

Yes, extensively. One converter set is sold as fitting the Infiniti EX35, EX37 and FX35 together with the Nissan 350Z and 370Z, all built around the VQ V6. The QX56 and QX80 use Nissan Armada and Patrol hardware.

Are left and right Infiniti converters different?

Yes. Manufacturer listings catalogue them as separate left and right parts with their own numbers, and in some cases split further between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Note which side each unit came from when you photograph the references.

How many catalytic converters does an Infiniti have?

Two on every model in the table above, one per exhaust bank, and many also carry a small manifold pre-cat worth $20 to $100 on its own. A quote covering a single unit is a quote for half the vehicle.

Figures on this page are indicative buyer ranges for complete, uncut original units and are not offers to buy. Converter types, codes and selling rules are covered on the main catalytic converter price page.
